Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation Support Services is a program designed to support clients with a mental illness living in the community to enhance their independence and community participation and to assist them in their journey of recovery. Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation Support Services is delivered in the client’s home environment.

Mind works in partnership with the local mental health teams and individually tailors the length and type of support required by the client. Services are delivered in a framework of participation and flexibility. The client and where appropriate the family and significant others will be actively engaged in the management of the areas that are impacted by their circumstances. Mind will also support the client to access a range of other services including housing, health, education and training services.

The Community Rehabilitation Worker is part of the IPRSS team working within a framework of recovery, supporting clients to identify, develop and maintain a sustainable and purposeful lifestyle that has meaning and value to them, actively support participation in community life, manage day-to-day activities and to reduce social and physical dislocation.

The Ringwood Prevention And Recovery Care Program (PARC) is an exciting new component of the mental health service system in the catchment area for Eastern Mental Health Service. It is a 10 bed residential service provided in a home like environment in Ringwood. Funded by the Department of Human Services the program offers a combination of recovery focused services and clinical services, using the expertise of Mind and Eastern Mental Health Service together in a formal partnership model. The program is designed as a “step-up step-down” program for people with mental illness who need more intensive treatment and support than can be provided in their own home, but who don’t need an inpatient stay. Prospective clients may move directly from the community to the PARC Program, or from the Psychiatric In-Patient Unit in the outer east.

The Program Manager will provide overall management to all aspects of the PARC Program by maintaining high standards of service delivery to clients. The Program Manager represents the service and organisation on a local, regional and state-wide level and regularly supervises and supports staff. The Program Manager will work in partnership with the Clinical staff from Eastern Mental Health Service and will develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships, and ensure adherence to all administration, financial and organisational policy structures.

Respite Services is an innovative service in the field providing respite for carers of people with a Mental Illness. Services are tailored to meet individual respite needs and are delivered either in-home or in the community. The new flexible respite service arm of Respite Services is funded by the Commonwealth Department Housing, Community Services & Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), and brokered by the Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre (CCRC) in the metropolitan region to provide flexible planned respite services for carers by delivering one on one support to their care recipient.

This position forms part of a team of respite staff who provide planned respite services to people experiencing a mental illness and their carers throughout metropolitan Adelaide. The Respite Support Worker will work closely with the Respite Coordinator in implementing the respite plan. This will involve supporting both people with a mental illness and their carers to engage in activities such as tailored activities, outings and holidays. Most importantly, this role will support carers to take time out from their caring responsibilities whilst offering meaningful experience for those they provide support to.

Denham House is a psychosocial residential rehabilitation and outreach program that provides supported accommodation for up to 8 young adults who experience mental health issues. The age group ranges between 16 and 24 and the outreach component of the service operates from the same site. The program supports the model of recovery and offers the opportunity for consumers to make personal changes by setting their own goals. Consumers can access both the staff and community based agencies for support in addressing not only their mental health needs but other issues such as family breakdown, social isolation, substance abuse, traumatic childhood experiences and to pursue employment.

The Team Leader will perform a mentoring role for support workers and model appropriate work practices through the conduct of their regular duties. The position has a responsibility to deliver targeted professional supervision in conjunction with the Program Manager to other team members and works closely with the Program Manager to identify service delivery and staffing issues for immediate attention and for program planning and direction.
