The Southern Metro regional area provides a diverse range of services to individuals who experience a mental illness or who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and their families and carers. The Southern Metro Regional Administration & Project Worker provides administrative and project support to the Southern Metro Regional Manager and programs located in these regions. The position will participate and provide support to a broad range of regional initiatives and ongoing regional and program requirements. The position will work under the direction of the Regional Manager and will liaise with program managers in the region along with other Mind staff as required. Further, the position will also involve undertaking some administrative support functions related to the operation of the Southern Metro Regional Office.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level help desk support in a operation role

  • Assists with installations, configuration of computers, and ongoing usability of desktop & laptop computers, peripheral equipment and software with established standards and guidelines

  • Work with vendors to resolve technical problems with equipment and software

  • Ensure desktops interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems

  • Train staff on basic use of hardware, software and remote access

  • Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems

  • Works with the business to purchase hardware and software
One to two years experience using the following technologies:
  • Windows XP, Vista and 7

  • MS Office Suite 2003 and 2007

  • MS Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange

  • Basic Networking

  • Experience using a call logging system

  • Desirable - IT Qualification / A+ or Microsoft certifications
Essential skills:

This voluntary position would suit someone with an interest/experience in supporting others in the community or a mature student of social work/psychology. Case management is provided to woman by experienced staff. The Lead Tenant will receive ongoing support and supervision in this role and an oncall service is available in the evenings.

The Bendigo Prevention And Recovery Care Service (PARC) is an exciting new innovative component of the Mental Health service system in rural Victoria. The program is designed as a “step-up step-down” service, which will enable people to move directly from their home to the PARC service, or from the Psychiatric Acute unit in Bendigo.

The Team Leader will assist the Program Manager to provide supervision, support and annual staff appraisals, as well as reviewing the process of clients’ care and management. The Team Leader will also provide leadership in the day to day operations of the PHaMs service including service delivery, service development, networking and service promotion, staffing, staff supervision and professional development, finances, quality controls and evaluation. The Team Leader will also have a small caseload of clients.
